This is the 'before' pile. I corralled up all the yarn I had and didn't think I was going to use in the next year, and offered it up to friends. I first offered it up to The Good People at Stellar Coffee.
They made quite a dent in the pile. Reduced it by at least 25%, I'd say. Then another friend came over later that day.
She made another sizeable dent. With that, I packed up everything into bins.
And took them to the Knits by the Sea's yarn swap a few weekends ago. Only a few balls & skeins went home with other people, the rest came home with me. Rats. I am planning to put them up on Freecycle, then on Used Tofino/Ucluelet, and failing that I'll put up signs in the Co-op (our only grocery store). I don't even know what's in the bins anymore, I am trying to detach myself from them, lest I should change my mind. But no, I have enough yarn to last me several months and I have some projects that I really want to knit that I want to buy yarn for. So there.
