For those of you who don't follow me on Twitter (I have recently added the gadget that shows my last five tweets to this blog), you should know that we are waiting to see what will happen. Our landlord called us from Nova Scotia and woke us up at 4:30am to let us know an tsunami advisory was issued. This is a tsunami area and there are all kinds of disaster plans in place. Our friends who live closer to sea level have come over with their dogs and we're waiting it out. It's set to hit us in the next half hour, and it could be nothing more than storm surge waves that we're used to, but it could also mean that marinas on this side of the coast will be damaged.
I work at the hospital in Tofino, which is 41km away from here. In case of disaster, I am to make sure my family safe and report for work. I am the Stores and Pharmacy person, which means if the nurses and doctors need stuff, I'm the one who gets it. Hopefully the road to Tofino isn't washed out.
